Super Rugby Pacific Semi-Final 2025 - Crusaders 21-14 Blues - 13/06/2025.
Photo highlights from the Super Rugby Pacific Semi-final between the Crusaders and Blues on a rainy and cold night in the garden city.
Despite the conditions the Crusaders’ extended their home playoff winning streak to 31 games in nail biting fashion to set up another mouth watering grand final day against the Chiefs or the Brumbies next Saturday.
The opening stages were a largely uneventful affair featuring two tries apiece, two yellow card each for head-on-head clashes and three Crusaders HIAs. The first try of the game came courtesy of Mark Tele’a who raced in to dive over emphatically before teammate Rieko Ioane dived over between the sticks to put the visitors 14-0 up.
After the try the Crusaders began to play as Tom Christie crashed over near the corner to reduce the deficit before the momentum truly swung back into the Crusaders favour when Will Jordan jinked his way past the Blues defense before powering over the line to send the teams into the halftime level.
After the break the game became scrappy with the home side conceding a series of penalties close to their line, but defended immensly to deny the visitors on the flip side the Crusaders made hard work of the offensive side of play until they eventually capitalised on the Blues poor discipline with Jordan’s go-ahead try to seal next week's home final.
